Questions, answered.

Yes, during the beta. It’s free to use and we don’t ask for payment details. From launch on [LAUNCH DATE], DESHANK will cost £12.99/month (monthly only), with a 14-day free trial – no card needed. You’ll never be charged unless you choose to subscribe.

£12.99 a month. It’s monthly only – there are no long contracts – and you can cancel anytime. There’s no VAT to add for now, because Whizzly Ltd isn’t VAT registered. If we register, we’ll give subscribers 30 days’ notice of any change, and you can cancel before it applies. You can try it free for 14 days first, with no card needed.

Sign up with your email address – no card needed – and you get full access for 14 days. Nothing is charged, and the trial never turns into a paid subscription on its own. We’ll email you about [3] days before it ends. At the end of day 14 your access pauses, and your players and swing history stay in your browser. Subscribe whenever you like to carry on. One trial per person.

During the free trial, you don’t need to do anything – you won’t be charged. If you’ve subscribed, cancel online any time in your account settings – there’s no need to call or explain. You keep access until the end of your current paid month, with no further payments.

The free trial costs nothing, so there’s nothing to refund. When you subscribe, your paid access starts straight away, and we’ll ask you to confirm that you understand this means you lose the usual 14-day right to cancel. You still have your full legal rights – for example, if DESHANK isn’t as described or doesn’t work properly. See our Subscription Terms for details.

Yes – a simple account with your email address, for your free trial and to manage your subscription if you take one. Your swing video, scores and history still stay on your device. [DEVELOPER TO CONFIRM ACCOUNT DESIGN]

No. DESHANK runs in your web browser at deshank.com. You can add it to your home screen so it opens like an app.

A phone, tablet or laptop with a camera and an up-to-date browser [CONFIRM SUPPORTED BROWSERS]. A stand or somewhere stable to prop your device up helps.

No. Body tracking runs on your device. Your video and body data aren’t sent to us or anyone else. The only thing that leaves your device during practice is voice-session audio, which goes to your browser’s speech service – and only if you choose to start a voice session (see below).

In your browser on your device. If you clear your browser data, use private browsing or switch device, your history won’t come with you. You can delete a player or clear history at any time.

DESHANK gives camera-based estimates for practice. It hasn’t been validated against launch monitors, and results depend on light, framing and camera position. When conditions aren’t good, it flags results as low confidence.

No. “Speed” is shown as a percentage of your own average swing, so you can compare swings with each other. It doesn’t measure the club or the ball.

A single camera can only roughly estimate rotation, so we show turn as a guide rather than a score.

DESHANK can help you spot body-movement habits, such as head movement, hip sway and standing up, that golfers and coaches often look at when working on mishits. It can’t diagnose every cause of a shank, such as club path or face contact. For persistent problems, see a qualified golf professional.

Tap the mic once to start a voice session, then say “record” before each shot. The mic stays on between shots, so you don’t need to touch your device. Only DESHANK’s commands do anything – everything else is ignored, and we don’t keep a record of what’s said. The session ends when you say “stop listening”, tap the mic again, lock your screen or leave the page, or after about 5 minutes without a recognised command.

No. It’s off until you tap the mic, and it never listens before then. Once you start a voice session, it listens continuously – including between shots – until the session ends: when you say “stop listening”, tap the mic again, lock your screen or leave the page, or after about 5 minutes without a recognised command. A listening indicator stays on screen the whole time the mic is on.

While a voice session is on, your browser sends what the mic hears to its built-in speech service, so it can pick out commands like “record”. On Chrome and Android, that audio goes to Google. On iPhone and Safari, Apple’s speech service handles it, either on your device or on Apple’s servers. This includes anything else the mic picks up during the session, such as conversations or other people’s voices nearby – so end the session when you’ve finished hitting. Google and Apple handle this audio under their own privacy policies. DESHANK doesn’t receive, record or store your audio, and we don’t log what’s said.

Yes. Every voice action has an on-screen button, and the app works fully without the mic.

Tracking, scoring and voice guidance work offline after the first time you load it. Voice commands may need a connection, depending on your browser – use the buttons if you’re offline.

You must be 18 or over to start a subscription. Golfers aged 13 to 17 can use DESHANK on a parent’s or guardian’s subscription, with their permission. Younger children should only use it with a parent or guardian. For under-18s, we suggest using the buttons, or voice sessions only with a parent’s agreement – and adult supervision when choosing a safe place to swing.

Only if you have enough space and a proper net or practice balls. Keep the device well out of your swing path, and make sure no one is nearby. Read our Safety Disclaimer.

Our partner programme for coaches and golf pros is coming soon. Leave your details in the “For coaches” section and we’ll let you know first when it opens.
